Post TX Biopsy on TP Liver

I finished tx Sept. 20th and the biopsy was Sept. 27th.  I will see my hepatologist on Oct. 18th and wanted to hear opinions from the gallery if you will.  The biopsy report is not like any other I have ever seen, it does not state grade/stage.  The complete report is as follows:

Final Diagnosis:
    A.  Liver, biopsy:
    Mild non specific portal inflammation.
Negative or indeterminate for rejection with a rejection activity
    index of 1/9
    See comment.

    Comment:
The above diagnosis is supported by PAS with and without digest, iron, and
    trichrome stains.

    Rejection activity index
Portal inflammation: Mostly lymphocytic inflammation involving but not
noticeably expanding a minority of the triads   (1)
    Bile duct inflammation damage   0
    Venous endothelial inflammation  0

    ***Electronically Signed Out***
    cl1/10/2/2007 OSSAMA TAWFIK MD  PhD.
    LEWIS, CATHERINE  PAT

I add that this may have been all that the Pharmaceutical Co. wanted to know.  I was in a nationwide clinical study limited to TX naive TP patients.

Your biopsy report does appear rather brief. My take is that it is a good report, if based only on the absence of all of the things we worry about - necrosis, bridging fibrosis, cholestasis, bile duct inflammation, rejection etc. All that I see is mild portal inflammation which I would expect to see in an HCV liver - transplant or native. The fact that your center didn't order this test probably explains its lack of specificity. But, if there were anything remarkable I'd think it would have been mentioned in the report. I would take this as a positive report. Good luck, Mike

I am certainly no Dr., but I think that if my test came out like that I would definintely be celebrating. To me ( in my opinion) you appear "clean".  -:)  with some minor inflammation.

I certainly hope someone else posts and , definitely lets us know if I am wrong.   If I am right - congrats.  -:)).
