Fatty liver can damage the liver and even cause failure in some cases. Sensible diet with lots of veggies and fruit is recommended. Low sugar/carbs. See your doctor about this possiblilit. I think fatty liver can be disclosed with an ultrasound or CT scan.
If this was on one test, it could possibly be the drugs you were taking or other factors have influenced the outcome. With borderline high readings it is probably a good idea to have a follow up test. Try to do without OTC meds a week prior to the test and tell your doctor about any prescription or OTC meds you are taking and ask if they could be the cause.
It's not really all that high - it's just out of the high range. Many of us had them in the 200s or higher when we were diagnosed with hepc - which you were not.
Many things can cause it to go up - I think you need to follow up with a repeat test in a month and talk to your doctor. But 89 isn't anything to worry about that dreadfully.
Calm down and take a breath and ask your doctor what he thinks. Could be too much exercise even - try and relax and of course.....follow up with the doctor.
I'm nt in any regular medication. I used to take metronidajol sometimes and before doing d test i took some pain killer and antibiotics for one week.
I took alcohol in the last 3 years may b one time per month.and in d last 3 months i've given up.
Is the SGPT ALT reversible ? that is cud it be backed to normal stage? Can fatty liver get bak to normal again?
What changes should be brought in life style, eating habbit?
Are you on other medications? Anything can raise your liver enzymes, it would be too difficult to venture a guess here. What does your doctor have to say about the elevation? (Keep your eye on it yourself with future bloodwork, btw,)
any one plz why SGPT high??
