Thank you so much for your gracious support.
Eric
Eric, I'm sorry to hear that your mother in law is doing so poorly and suffering so much.. and Mafalda along with her. Honestly...I'm sure Mafalda's suffering would be much more without you there to comfort her. I highly doubt you are simply watching Mafalda and your mother in law suffer. I'm sure you are doing what you can to relieve them of what relief there is to be had and to cope with what aspects are simply unavoidable. I wish you grace and strength to get through this, Eric.

Thank you so much for the support. I am just blown away by the number of caring wonderful people on the forum.
As for me, I am very relieved to be able to stop worrying about this. Unfortunately, life seems to have a good supply of lemons to toss at you any time you get cocky - LOL.
Overall I am doing well, but my mother in law has entered the final stage of congestive heart failure and that is a prolonged and very uncomfortable way to die. So, my problems have been dealt with and now I have to watch my wife and mother in law suffer and that is more difficult than for me to suffer.
Thanks for asking -- Eric
Welllll----obviously I don't get here (the forum) very much anymore, but I do wonder how you're doing, and am so happy that you've finally achieved SVR. Congratulations doesn't quite come close to what I want to say to you, but it'll have to do. You, of all people, deserve it the most, after all you've been through. I'm really happy for you!
Aloha, Michelle
Congratulations!! It is wonderful that you can finally put this all behind you.
Very happy for you!

I'm so happy for you! I have been away for a while (from this forum that is!) but I followed your posts before and know it's been a long road for you. You are SVR and that's what matters- I know people can be cruel especially at times when you need it least, but keep your head up and remember... you won!!! Now you can go out on the water without the company of those awful little Hep C dragons- just you and the feeling of triumph I'm sure you feel when this virus is finally conquered. Enjoy!!!

andiamo...no one can take that away.
congrats !!!
It's all good, you have cause for celebration and nothing should stop you from feeling on top of the world. I wish you the a long, quiet, lovely sail through the land of SVR.

Thanks for the kind post.
Some people have said outrageous things to me over the last week. I don't get depressed by that, but I do get angry. I am human and make lots of mistakes; starting that thread was one of them.
I would feel badly if someone said something nasty but true, but almost all that was said was untrue and just said in Riba Rage and that made me very angry.
So, its nice to see a friend here. I wish you well and also Jules and all the other posters sending me congrats on SVR.
It was one of the toughest years of my life, but well worth it.
Good morning Eric. It's high time I said congrats to you. I remember watching you and many others join the trial, wade thru the trials and eventually for the most part succeed if one was on a Telaprevir arm. Your case seemed to me one of the most interesting since you may have been in a group that could be deemed least likely to succeed; male, geno1, older (65+)and multiple time treatment failure. When you cleared so early in treatment and maintained that status it just seemed to me that you were one of the most palpable examples of the potency of this treatment. I am so delighted that you got your SVR....... since to me it signifies that many many people will be cured with this treatment; even people who have failed in the past.
I also wanted to take this moment to thank Eric for taking the time to help me when I was trying to get into the Vertex phase 3 trial. Eric took the time to converse with me and help me understand basics about being accepted and compliance in a trial. He helped me to know whether I could actually do it. In the end..... I did get in but dropped out when my biopsy score turned out so low (1/6). Eric took the time to help me. I had the pleasure of speaking with him by phone as well and that was a treat for me. I was struck by how he sounded the same on the phone as he seems to via reading posts; just an interesting thing about how people come off.
Anyway...... thanks for your many informational posts on the board here and the kindness and time you took with me to help me out.
Since the 10 days or so that I was in the trial I have simply returned (Lauri put me up while I was in the process of the trial) back home. We had tremendous flooding here and I have been immersed in work ever since. To some extent finally getting a biopsy after 5 years has put me on a track towards simply working and trying to get a little more ahead (or a little less behind) financially. It isn't as if I have forgotten that I have HCV, but I am trying to give it a little less immediate priority in my life. Yes...... I am going to be one of those "watch and wait" folks it would appear for a few more years anyway.
Long post, but I wanted to get you a little up to date and answer you about what I've been doing and to thank you one more time.
Some day I may drift into one of these Florida hepper breakfasts and we can meet. Until then...... thanks and wishing you some smooth sailing from here on in.
your friend........
Willy

Eric,
I am very happy for you! You have fought the good fight and have prevailed! I am still about 6 weeks out from knowing if I have been fortunate as well. You have been a great virtual friend and appreciate you and your posts greatly. I wish you the best in all that you do.
I haven't been on for a couple months as I've been trying to do some consulting to keep my mind busy and not go into depression which has been hard for some reason this time. But I will certainly check back more often as I know there were a few of us that were looking for this around the same time.
Blessings to you my friend!
Scott
And one more time :)..............
