JD,
I have those birds ALL OVER the golf course that I live on. They may be pretty in the picture, but they are h*ll on your porch screens!!! And what makes it worse, they're a protected species so I can't really do a whole heck of a lot to drive them away. Those sharp beaks put holes right into my screens. Unfortunately, on the rare days in FL when it's beautiful weather in the 70's (like in the winter), I have to temporarily tape up the holes if I want to open up my windows and not have the bugs come in. I could replace the whole screen but, they would just peck news holes in those screens. I used to clap my hands and try to shoo them away like a crazy woman, but then, when I found out that you can't do anything to them (especiallly feed them), or if you're caught, you get a $5,000 fine!!! Most people aren't even aware of this. I found out from the Florida Wildlife authorities. Fortunately, when I called them, I didn't fess up that I'd done this thing and didn't get caught doing it, so didn't get fined..., THANK GOD! Susan400
"Does water boil at a lower temperature in Florida?"
Relative to where? Death Valley? Denver? Uranus? Hmmmm.... boils on Uranus, maybe not the best example....

Here's a deeper question: Where do all the bubbles come from? A big boiling pot produces lungs and lungs worth of bubbles, yet there's no air down there?
And on a similar 'note', where does the air for farts come from?
I can allways feel your hugs sweet lady ,not finger feeling, arm chest and heart feeling i meant JUST AS WHEN HUGGING.
Huge hugs to both of you!!

PS dont put your arm in the water!!
Adding salt increases the boiling temperature, but the increase is relatively small.
I thought adding salt lowered it. I notice if it's close and I add salt, the boiling will start. Pasta is any easy meal on tx. It's about all I've cooked in the past several months.
you gotta do it on feeling!!!

Water boils in Florida (unless it is water from the ocean)....at sea level at 212 degrees, by definition. Elevation affects the boiling temp, lowering the temperature about 2 degrees per 1000 foot elevation above sea level.
Adding salt raises the boiling point.

I don't know, I'll have to ask hubby as he is the one doing all the cooking these days, lol!!!`
I think boiling temp is 212, regardless of atlitude or humidity. I thought that stuff only mattered if you were baking a cake in the mountians.
Thanks again for all your help the other day....sorry I missed ya this time around. We have to plan it for next time.
