So far, so good

So far, so good

Well, I go for my 4-week PCR tomorrow.  I think I'm feeling more and more 'normal' every day.  The changes are so gradual that I hardly even notice them until I think about it.

I wake up when the alarm goes off (most days), I'm finding less and less hair in the shower drain, I'm eating more (and enjoying it), and I even found myself running up the stairs today.  So, there is life after treatment.

I did end up with a corneal ulcer this week, though I have no idea if that is related to treatment or not.  Anybody else get one during or just after treatment?

So glad you are feeling more normal every day. Me too. I don't know about the corneal ulcer. I have a pain in my right ankle. I hope it goes away.

I guess if we can't blame our ailments on HepC or treatment, we'll have to attribute them to our age.  OH NOOOOO....  ;))))

I had a 3 week pcr on Friday.  Really didn't want to do it, but doc was insistent.  He's gone along with me on a lot of stuff and I guess he could have suggested a colonoscopy instead.  He's more interested in the lft, cbc and tsh right now but wanted to throw in the pcr.  Glad normal is coming your way, it's a good feeling.

Good for you!  I started feeling better from the effects of tx about 10 days after I was done.

Keep on keep'in on!

I am starting week #10 free of INF/Riba and feel so much better; I did 24 wk therapy as I'm Geno 2b.  My hair starting shedding at week #20 and just now am I noticing that it is not letting loose like before.  While it didn't come out in clumps, I noticed it for sure.

Good luck to you on your 4 wk PCR.  The doctor I have (I'm in SW Florida), ordered a 4 week CBC blood test, but I don't go for a PCR until 6 months post.  I really don't know why that long, other than she said "when it comes in UND, we consider you cured".   My doctor experience during this whole thing has been a whirlwind, and that's a nice term.

As far as aches, etc., since stopping tx I am experiencing a neck ache, some type of ulcer near a tooth in my mouth, and as you said, anything that comes along, I can blame HCV for it (ha ha). I'm 56 yrs, but that should  have no bearing, right??? My sense of humor has slowly returned as well.

For about the first 3 weeks after tx end I also had awful neck aches that blossomed into incredible headaches.  They are subsiding somewhat now.  When they first started I worte them off as a 'crick' in the neck and did some stretchings and laying with neck on a cervical pillow etc.  I think I've had more tylenol and aspirin post tx than I have during tx.  But, also at lot of stress at work these day too.  It's subsiding some now.  Not sure if I'll blame it on hcv beacuse I like to think that maybe I don't have hcv anymore - but the jury is still out on that.
