Some good stuff...

Hey everyone,

I haven't been on much, moaning about having tendonitis and saving my precious fingers for work.   Well finally my whole upper LHS, (arm, shoulder, & 2 fingers) went numb and my doc took notice.  An x-ray shows some degeneration at my neck with spur, 'early osteoarthritis'  Mmmmmm I don't have problems anywhere else in my body.  My physio says it's my posture and after two weeks of torturous exercises I am getting great relief and making huge improvements...   12 years of sitting incorrectly at a PC had taken its toll.   Lack of using a PC as much during tx probably made my muscles even slacker for my return to work and the load went on the neck, with poor posture and stress combined...

So, despite having to take a couple of weeks off work, I'm feeling pretty good,  over a year since finishing tx and many months since I reached SVR.

AND, (I had been quiet about this one),  my son went and had himself tested after he turned 18 (they won't treat anyone with tx here if they're under 18), and his Hep C status is negative.    Well, after a 39 hour labour 18 years ago, I was suprised and very very relieved.   So I have this lovely young man who was brought up to know all about the dangers of blood to blood contact, had only discovered I had Hep before I started the tx in 2008.    I'm so very proud of his attitude - kids these days are awesome.

I know we all do it differently with out children, but I couldn't be supportive enough of him while doing tx myself, so we waited until I was stronger and he was ready.   There are miracles still flying around ready to land in our laps - and miracles are easier to access than lotto.   Love to all ..

Hi there Kristina, glad to see your doing well and thrilled to hear your sons negative.
I took my 3 in right after I was dx'd (all were grown) and was a nervous wreck waiting. All negative, a huge blessing. I remember several here, waiting for that testing on their children.
I recently found out I have arthritis in my neck, spine, when I was admitted into a local hospital, in their testing. I haven't been in yet for the follow up, but it does explain a lot. I asked the Dr. (with a dead fish bed side manner)..."so what does this mean", he says "what do you mean what does this mean"?
Not going to him for follow up! Yoga really helps (everything!), being consistent in that is the hard part.
It's really hard to not slack on the posture on the comp. As I read this, I just straightened up :)
Good to hear your good news, LL

Hi Kristina,

What to say about such good news concerning your son? Gosh, it hits us so much harder when it's our kids involved. I remember waiting for my sons'  test results, and it was one of my happiest moments that they were HCV-free.

When they were growing up, we broke every rule in the book in terms of precautions because we didn't know better. We were lucky.

Best regards and congrats,

Susan

P.S.

Our Aussie in-laws are visiting again this summer!  They're older than we are but travel the world so much more. I think you guys down there just up and go so much more, at least the young people. Tell your son he's welcome to stay with us a while, if he also gets the travel bug.

Good to hear from you!  Very very pleased for both you and your son that he's tested negative for HCV.  What an utter relief for both of you.  I have three children and it was difficult waiting it out.  So glad to hear that your recovery is going well and that you're continously reclaiming life!  All the best to you!!

Congratulations on 1 year and also on your son. I am 2 years post treatment now myself and feeling pretty good. Going on a vegetarian diet got rid of the inflammation left behind by the Interferon and I now feel great.

   Grangratulations again.

Kristina that is just great marvelous fantastic news.  I think there are a lot of us mommies on here who can relate to how nerve wracking it really is waiting for the kids tests to come back - torture!

And like I just said in another post, I'm glad all obsessives are wrong in assuming all our problems have something to do with treatment...turns out we're just getting older but that is a much much better alternative to the option!

I'm glad you are getting the correct help that you need and you are getting well. that's great fantastic marvelous news too! :)

Hi Kristina-- So relieved and happy  your son is negative. Hoping you are getting some relief now from all the aches and pains...I too have lots of joint pain since tx.
Osteoarthritis..with excercise and the proper meds I hope you find yourself back to normal soon.
