Stage 4 cirrhosis Tucson, AZ

Hello, My husband was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Cirrhosis due to Hep C. his current doctor refuses to treat the hep c because my husband is Bipolar (his bipolar disorder is currently under control with medication), I however believe with close psychiatric monitoring he would be able to make it through treatment & that it would possibly save his life... does anyone know any doctors in Tucson, AZ that would be more aggressive in saving my husband's life instead of just "monitoring" him ??

Thanks in advance

I'm sorry to hear about your husband too....and agree with other posts here.  Try this link to find a doctor:

Be relentless in your search but if you find no one will treat him at least you will know you gave it your best. Good luck to both of you.

I would get a psychiatrist on board who is willing to take on the psych issues and would  reccomend TX. Then engage to top hepatologist who will work as a team with the shrink. You want to get right on this, and monitoring doesn't sound like a plan.

All I know about Tuscon is it gets hot in the  summer. But yuo probably already know that :)

Good luck

sorry to hear your husbands diagnosis. I would get second opinion. I would try to find a hepatologist. You have options don't be discouraged.
