Hi Roxy
Hope your treatment goes well. That was about the time I had a transfusion and contracted hep c. I have now started a new treatment without interferon. Hope it goes well.

I don't come back here often, so only just read your question.
By the end of the first week of treatment I was feeling extremely nauseous. It was nothing that a couple of Zofran didn't put right. For the next eleven weeks I was absolutely fine. If I'd been on the 12 week arm I would have said that treatment was a piece of cake, but I was on the 24 week arm, so continued. Between 12 and 14 weeks I was feeling more and more unwell. I can't even remember all of the symptoms now, but I knew for me, I had to stop. I knew it was the right choice and now I'm finding out that people who were on an eight week arm have been cured. I'm very happy I didn't go any further than 14 weeks. I felt really confident it was the right decision to stop....and it was :-))
Happy for you,
Congrats....

You are very kind to think of me. I am cured and happy about that, it has been 18 months since I finished the triple treat, all is good
Congratulations!

oh, there is another Dee, maybe it is her you are thinking of, either way, really nice of you
hello everyone... I will be starting my injections after the 17th of this month. I have geno 3. Hope it goes well for me.. Had this since 1982 when hep c didn't have a name it was called non a non b.
This is so exciting to hear. I'm curious as to why you stopped early though. Obviously it worked out fine in the end, but why did you take that extra risk? Were the sx bad? I'm so happy for you, but just wondering if this drug combo will be as hard on people as some other drugs have been.
Congratulations on your fantastic news!!!!!!
Stay well.
Mike
@ Hector...I was told that the chance of relapse after SVR24 is only about 1%....so YOU my friend are good to go :-)
Dee...aren't you a geno2 or 3? Heard there's a really good trial coming in the next month or two. I'll try to find out what pharma AND an excellent one in December for geno 1's. Going to find out more info....
I was undetected about 2 weeks after tx (maybe it was a week). Then the trial was blinded until after your SVR 24. However...if you were still undetected after SVR12, then you were asked to come back for the 24 week blood work. If you'd relapsed at 12 weeks, then you would have been asked to come back for a re-check. It was a good way of knowing where you stood, without being actually told.
On my SVR24 blood work I was told that I was now CURED!!!
This is wonderful news!!!! How long eot before they said you were cured????
Fanfreakentastic!!!
Congrats!!!!!!
Sofosbuvir and ledipasvir correct?
I just finished 48 weeks of Sofosbuvir + Ribavirin. Minimal side effects early on then none after week 20 or so. I will be tested monthly to see if I relapse. I hope not to infect my donor liver with hep C.
Enjoy life free of hep C! Got to feel real good!
Hector
