Treatment is WORKING

Why did I feel so Guilty?
Hello everyone!  I met with my doctor today and got some good news.  My HEPTIMAX (R) HCV RNA was1.5 MILLION when I started treatment on July 15th.  I had blood work done last Friday, July 29th.  My HEPTIMAX (R) HCV RNA was 293.

I posted about four weeks ago about feeling guilty for not having all of the scarey side effects many other people were having.  I'm still doing pretty well.  And now I have good news......and I am happy!!!  I wish the same for everyone in treatment.

I had a good story all typed out earlier, then I touched the BACKSPACE key to correct a boo-boo and ZAP! everything disappeared.  So here's the short version.

Thank you to everyone who has helped along the way. Without this forum and you guys, I would not be this far along, or this excited about gettin WELL!!!

Yippee!  Liz

Excellent.  Don't ever feel guilty about feeling good though! I did the same and quickly learned that it is often fleeting.  I wish I felt good enough to feel guilty now, but I now understand why my Dr told me to enjoy it while I felt good.  Congrats, and enjoy good health.

Congrats, not clear why you must switch to Pegintron however I know I was afraid of it because I had heard the SX were harder, it worked out, I don't feel any different on Pegintron than I did on Pegasys, adding the Incivek?...that is another story I won't go into here lol
This is my 2nd tx and I hae been told it is not as bad the 2nd time, while I would not go that far I am hanging in and pegintron is weight based so that is a good thing
Wishing you the best

Don't feel guilty I won't if I do wel!! Congrats. I will be starting treatment soon and pray daily I am tough enough to weather the side effects. I am also keeping my HCV a secret from Mom and Dad they are old and sick but at the same time I want to help educate people and promote getting tested. God Bless.

I've done treatment a couple of times before and know how horrible it can be - that's why I was so freaked out about not feeling crummy.  I will have to change my shots from Pegasys to the peginterferon alpa 2-b RediPen this Friday.  I am not looking forward to it.  I was sick as a dog on that stuff.  I am so worried that my honeymoon period is just a fleeting memory!  I'm going to enjoy these last four days before I start my job at school again and begin the demon shots.  BUT!  I'm going to imagine that it'll be different this time and I will tolerate it better.  "Pollyanna" lives!!!  And to put it the words of Scarlet O'Hara as well, "I'll think about it tomorrow...."
Thank you for your kind comments!  I'll keep y'all up to date - and when/if I feel like dying, I'll know you're here to talk to!!!  :)  Here's to a happy last four days of summer and feeling good!  LOL
