Two weeks left

I have two more shots left and a Dr. visit on Friday which we will discuss my ending of tx etc.  Is it common to get the 4 wk post tx PCR done?  If my Dr. tries to give me a lab slip that is like 3 mos out then I am going to insist on the 4 wk one.  I am getting nervous about having to go through the wait and see time.  I am also worried about post tx sx that seem to occur in many or that I won't bounce back right away.

Any thoughts any suggestions for my last (hopefully) Dr. visit?

I am tx'ing for 48 wks.  My last shot is Friday May 9th.

My 4 wk test would be right around the time of my daughter's graduation.  Time is really flying by and I know it will be here soon.  It is amazing how quickly a year goes by.  Basically, it all seems like a blur right now...

I really want the 4 wk PCR done just to gain the confidence like you said.  This is my second time on tx.  I don't really consider the first time though because I only lasted 3 wks back in 2002.  The sx were unbearable and tx was stopped.

Thanks,

T

Good luck T!

I would want one - if just for peace of mind. Something about making that hurdle makes you pretty confident.  How far out from your 4 week test would be her graduation?

i can't remember how long did you treat for?

Yeah, the main reason I want the 4 wk PCR is for peace of mind.

Yes my daughter (only one) is graduating June 12 and I am graduating on May 13th (Associates), so we are all pretty excited.  This year has been extremely stressful just worrying from time to time about my daughter and her grades/boys etc.  I will be so happy to see her walk across the stage as I never did (GED).

Congrats on your graduate it is a very exciting time for the parents ;-)

I am looking forward to being drug free and feeling better.

Thank you for your post.

Unless you would intend to take action if you were to not be undetectable the 4 week pcr is meaningful mostly of peace of mind - most would want to find out if they probably made it or not.  I found that, as a relapser, the doc was a little more tolerant of my 'need to know'.  So, you might consider that tact with him.  And assuming that you will be successful this time you might chat with the guy about post tx follow-ups and how you might schedule post tx labs and other test.  I read that you have a graduate very soon.  We do to and I understand your stress around that.  It will be a good distration, away from hcv, with the activities coming up.  Plan on a speedy recovery from the junk of tx, it will be gradual but after the first week of no Peg you'll really appreciate it.
