Ultram / Tramadol

I just found out that ultram combined with anti D's can cause all sorts of problems, seizures being one of them.  Fibromyalgia diagnosis this week and my doc gave me a script for 100 with a refill.  Pharmacy would not fill it because I am on zoloft.  A google search confirms this.  So the doc ended up calling in darvocet which has acetaminaphin in which I would rather not take .

I did try to get the pharm to fill the ultram as I have a dog that takes it.  It would be so much cheaper to get it under my name instead of the vet.

Just an FYI for those on anti d's.

I personally, cannot tolerate any of the anti-D's.  Trust me on this as I've tried over 10 on many different intervals and finally gave up and found a way, for me, that works to handle any of my depression issues.  I do however, take Tramadol as it helps me immensely with the aches and pains and actually gives me a bit of a mood boost as well.  I do not take the Tramadol that has acet./Tylenol in it.  I take just the regular strength of Tramadol 50mg, not the ER.  It works fine for me.  For me, the anti-D's caused too many side effects such as: weight gain, sleeplessness, too sleepy during the day, lethargy, sweating, upset stomach, constipation and on and on and on..., you get the picture.  I just decided to give up on them and do something different.

Being on tx, some of us might end up with a cocktail of drugs. Drug interaction is to be taken seriously, so always double, triple check with your doc. If your doctor is not 100% sure, ask him to please read up on it. Some drugs can be fatal to mix, i.e. Ultram (Tramadol) and SSRI’s like Paxil, Zoloft, etc. All drugs mentioned here can easily be googled for detailed information.
