probably will start tx again this week or next, not exactly looking forward to it, but I am almost half over and have a caring and accountable Dr and staff.
That is great news, that you've found a better situation with your doc. And though it's certainly not something to look forward to, just think how good you'll feel when you're finished tx!
That's really neat that the advocate found you. What a great service she does! Good to hear from you again.
She found me, she had been doing this since she cleared treatment in 2005 and took a 6month break. She and I have some mutual myspace friends in 2 Hep C awareness sites, Kellys Lot and Hep C Awareness.

Thanks for sharing this. How good to have that personal support from a knowledgeable person! So how'd you find a Hep C advocate?
Thanks,
Yea it was cool, she told what she said doctors and drug companies wouldn't say, that being off the poison that had saturated my mind and body, that I had been going through detox and withdrawals, who knew drugs that make you feel cruddy, when you stop taking them, they make you feel cruddy.

I've never heard of a Hep C advocate, but from my knowledge of other advocacy I would expect this to be someone who will assist you with any treatment, insurance and employment issues and problems that arise out of your illness and treatment. Assistance might be advice, or steering you toward organizations who have what you need, or adding her voice to yours when you have to speak up to get what you need. She shoud help you to survive this tx whilst protecting your health and livelihood. To be your voice when you're too weak and sick to look out for your own best interests. To give you guidance when you're trying to get disability forms sorted out. At least if I had the title "Hep C Advocate" those are some things I'd try to do.
It's good to see you posting. I'm glad to hear you have someone to watch your back through this. I know you had to suspend tx for a while, I hope you're feeling better.
