fibro scan

       Could someone please explain a fibro-scan? Does a hepatic-specialist have to administer this? Will it show the extent of cirrohis?

I got to be in the study of the fibro scan machine during my trial. I got one before tx, during and after. I also had the needle biopsy. The fibro scan showed a little less (overall) damage then the needle biopsy (bx). While it is a new technique, I like the idea it scans the entire liver, versus a needle bx where only 1/5000 of the liver organ is sampled (quoting the study).
