BBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRR, it's cold!  Kathy I bet you are getting it good up there!  My sister is in Fort Worth and it's snowing there along w/sleet and ice.  We are below the freeze line here in Kemah so no ice here just drizzling rain.

Wanted to drop in as it's been awhile since I have and want to say hi to all.  Hope everyone is doing OK.  KAthy, what have you decided to do about retreating?  I am schuduled to have my 6 month PCR at the end of the month.  Not going to worry about it either.  Just going to stay positive and hope for the best.

I am still dealing with the itching!  Drives me crazy especially right between my shoulder blades and chest.  I have tried every kind of itch relief lotion, cortizone and anything else I can think of including changing soaps many time and laundry detergent to get some relief to no avail.  About the only thing that give me a lil relief short term is after shower before drying off and still wet I douse myself w/ the walmart brand baby oil w/aloe and vitamin e.

Had to fire my brother, won't behave, took advantage of me too many times before I opened my eyes and said NO MORE!  It's really sad to have my brother so close and have to be tough like this.  Been since before TG since I have talked or layed eyes on him.  He has already drank himself back in to the hospital once already.  I guess what really pisses me off is he robbed me of my time to treat w/no worries.  I never expected this outcome after what all he went thru w/the 2 hip surgeries.  I would have thought he would take better care after going thru that!  So that's why I feel I was robbed.

Other than that all is good in life.  Think I told you all I am engaged now  YEEEEAAAA!  No date as of yet but if he waits 5 years like he did to propose, I have time to do ALOT OF PLANNING! LOL!  I also started taking classes at the college, just started last night.

Take care all and know I have not forgotten anyone!  Everyone one of you are continously in my prayers.

OXOXOXOX

Getting busy at work and can't get on as much.

Today is sort of a weather lull day here but it may rain today and freeze tonight. They are predicting 6" of snow for us this weekend. We had 2" of snow yesterday.  For those northerners on the forum, you would think we were wimps, but here in West Texas there is no snow removal equipment and no snow tires and no one knows how to drive in ice and no one has the proper clothes.  Ice storms are like nothing you ever saw in the north. (But we did not get nailed like Austin did yesterday)

I LOVE IT - the displaced buckeye that I am.  Sunday was so beautiful I bundled up and walked in our only nature park for about two hours - of course, I had it to myself.  Everything had a 1/4" of ice on it. The hawks in the trees just watched my walk by, not wanting to leave their roosts. I joined Curves to start getting back in shape and go at 5:30 AM.  I had a bet with myself yesterday that eveyone there would be from cold country.  I won my bet - a Nebraskan and Massachusettit were the only ones there with me.

I have worn all my winter gear to work - only have 3 sweaters -- you just don't buy for cold weather here-- and they get worn about twice a year-- but lots more this year.  We are in for another week in the 20s but it is cool with me!

chelly -Aren't you your normal PA socked in?  Gosh I miss that country.  How are the girls????? They are all so beautiful, I might add.  How is work going? I am so glad to see that your post tx depression is lifting.

fish - I am sorry to say I am glad you fired your brother.  He was a black hole.  Let's face it -- there are givers and takers and a taker he be.  I am not sure he will wake up, but until he makes a decision to treat his addictions and then his hep C himself there is nothing you can do.

I have fired my two boys. Of course the older one has been going thru a divorce for months (and I am tight with his ex and the kids - not him).  The final hearing has been set for March 5 and he is mad --- he was intending to remarry on March 15 and there is some law in Texas saying you have to be divorced for 30 days.  And he wants his ex to tell the judge she needs less child support.  Ha ha -- what a loser.  He "needs" to support his girlfriend and her 2. And my younger son -- haven't seen him since September when he left his wife and 7 week old baby -- for another woman with a kid (who, btw, has already kicked him out).  He called before Christmas and said he could come over Christmas (if I wanted him to ) and, oh, btw, I need some new boots.  -----like I say -- a taker.  Needless to say, I told him to come over the day before or after Christmas.  Never saw him.

Hep C talk -- fish - how did that biopsy go?  I don't understand the itching.  Have you flushed your system out good?  My itching and skin problems (all minor) cleared about 3-4 months post tx but I understand the riba can stay in your system for 6 months adn you had such major problems, it appears it is still there for you.  Can't wait to see your 6 mo clear post.!!!!!!  I am feeling good.  Trying to lose the weight I gained post tx and get in shape. My thinking seems to have cleared some and I am enjoying that.  I will not make a treatment decision until spring when I go to Dallas.

Have a good THursday all

Well, some alarmists are saying this might be the worst winter storm we've ever had.  I don't know -- may have to sharpen the iceskates tonight.

Like I said, if it does hit (raining now and 42) and turn to ice we will be totally strapped.  The only plow is out at the airport, and they don't share.  Glad I took dad's Ohio snow shovel when he died (my Ohio brothers thought I was nuts).  Sounds like there is a good possibility that our office may shut down tomorrow.

mekeela - didn't mean to miss you on that last thread.  I am so very glad you are done and hope that you can heal soon.  Life is good.

fish - classes???? treid to slip that one right by.  WHat are you taking/studying?  That has got to be a good sign the old brain is functioning.  I think it is good you are getting the biopsy.  It will tell you what the treatment did for you.

How is your sister post tx, by the way?
ps - Chell finished before we did and is still clear (go girl!)

See I have been MIA not know who is finished!  Guess I better stay tuned in and pay attention!  Kathy, brain fog is gone for the most part and yes, some college courses in business (thought I could slip that one past ya but ya caught me!).  Can't hurt.  Weird being back in class though.

Sister is doing great!  Gets up at 4 in the morn, and works all day.  She never got her last PCR because her insurance ran out and has not been able to afford it but she is fine knowing she treated, did what she could and stayed undetectable thoughout.  Bless her heart, 50.00 is like 5,000.00 to her but as soon as her new health insu kicks in on her new job she will go for that PCR.  By the way, she still has that full unopened bottle of Riba she has kept in the frig she would love to donate to someone if needed.  She would hate for it to go to waste.

fish - i asked my doc for a post tx biopsy - he laughed at me, thought i was nuts.  i want to know if any damaged was reversed, so please keep us posted as to your results.
ya, i'm now almost 10mo post tx and at 6mo still showed clear...one of the lucky ones, and it is a matter of luck cause we all work hard dealing with tx, right?  congrats on the engagement, you'll have fun planning....and spending $$$$

kath - glad you posted - i was picturing you guys, in the dark, freezing yo butts off! and yeah, we've been having all time highs in the weather dept...its like effing spring for crying out loud!  we're figuring we'll get hit with winter more in feb and march (at least i hope)

BRRRRRRRRRR, cold, rainy and hazey day here on the coast.  Like you said, no ice though with is a good thing.  We never got any anyway so all is good.

Kat, yea I remember now you said you would wait until the spring to weigh out your options on re-txing.  So glad you are feeling good, working out and taking those strolls.  Sounds like heaven walking through there.  Our trails are so wet here I dare not even attempt it.  I do ride my beach cruiser bike here around the little town of Kemah.  I keep it here in my office and like to ride on good weather weekdays when the tourist are not here.  They are crazy on the weekends!  Walk my lil Tiki monster around the neighborhood too so really thats the only exercise I am getting right now.  Gained 10 lbs on tx and 10 after tx, gotta get it off before I start looking for a wedding dress! So much going on w/work and college classes and you have your tax season now too!  No date set yet so I still have time.  Thanks for your continuing support and understanding with my brother.  I was doing really well not thinking about it all (him) and the thought of him just gives me anxiety.  Now his friends are calling me because his phone is turned off and nobody can get ahold of him.  I am NOT going by there!  I will call the hospital had see if he drank himself in there again but that's it!  I too am sorry you are going what you are with your sons.  It's a tough thing, I KNOW!

Mkeela.....WOOHOO!  Congrats on finishing!  I was so impatient waiting for the poision to leave my system too.  It will hit you one day soon, the fog will clear, the energy will return and you will shake your head and say "What just happened"!  It's a good feeling, trust me and anyone else that tells you that.  Any lingering sides?  Thanks for asking about me, sorry I have been MIA.  With the holidays, the engagement, school, work it's been a good whirlwind.  I am still having the itching as I stated above and some joint pain.  My lower back pain went away during tx but to only return therefore limiting my exercise that I want to do at Curves or the gym.  Oh well such is life, just happy I made it through tx and hopefully still undectable!

Chellski, how the heck are you?  Still txing?  How much longer if so?  The only way to stay positive is to know that I have done everything in my power txing and find now that the Hep C is NOT consuming all my thoughts as it once did.  I can actually go for days or even weeks now and it does not cross my mind.  With the upcoming 6 month PCR on the 26th, I truly am going to stay positive.  My biopsy will be 2 weeks after that.  I really don't want to do the biopsy but the study i was in did a biopsy before tx and wants to do one 6 months post to compare.  I signed up for the study and the LEAST I can do is finish it out.  After all they did provide all my meds and care for free.

So glad I logged in to say I to all, so good to hear from you all.  Gonna have to just in on jmjm thread and say hi to him also.

OXOXOX

we got dumped on here-12" in one night...the fellows that work on highway dept. were tickled pink-gotta lotta xmas bills to pay-off and they truly depend on overtime during winter months..so we are back to the usual winter weather& didn't hardly slow things down.....but i personally miss mowing the lawn on new years day....kidding,but i could have..Hope everyones ok and good to see y'all posting,,,sorry about some family members behavior, but we can only pick our friends, right?
Blank
Avatar_n_tn
Got that right -- we can pick our friends (and I pick you).  If I do any iceskating today it will have to be much later.  It is 35 outside and raining.  Might make some good ice if it drops like they say it will.

Now we could mow the lawn here on New Year's day -- but it be a stretch for you in NY state!  Rolling snowballs for snowmen would be a good way to rake the leaves, I would imagine.
