hair

Most of you remember I stopped tx in late May, or was it early June?  LOL, how soon we forget.  Just thought I would share my hair experience.  

During tx I lost over 60% of my hair, tried everything with no solutions.  Within a month or so of stopping tx it started to come back.  I was SO excited, all the little baby hairs!!  Anyway, my hair is naturally very curly.  Normally, I try to style it even if only with a comb until it is dry.  A couple of days ago, I just let it go and did not look in the mirror for an hour or so.

OMG!  I so wish I could send a picture!  On the top of my head were all these curly hairs about 2 inches long standing up.  I looked like I had an afro on top with all this long stringy hair comming out the bottom.  I had to get it wet again and style it before I went out in public.  lol.

The moral of the story is:  IT DOES COME BACK!!

LOL, I hope mine comes back curly. I am 4 or 5 weeks post despends on how you count it, and my hair is STILL falling out. Thanks for the story. Pam

That gives me hope.  I have lost probably 35% of mine but I think it is more.  I even have some places it is gone completly.   I am not looking forward to short hairs and long hairs.  I too have very, curly, frizzy hair that I use to chemically straighten.

Great story! Gives me hope my curls will come back. As for those other spots, I don't mind that my armpits no longer have hair, I just wish they would quit itching!

I always had the curly long hair now stick straight short babyfine hair. I hate it so much. WHY did I always use product, blow dryers, straighteners every day and kill my hair?

I can't WAIT to have big huge New Jersey Aqua Net Can in pocketbook type hair now!

I love the wigs they do make do but...I have a feeling when it's a hot, humiid 105 degree New York day I'm NOT gonna wanna put one on my head!  :)

I still have bald spots in private places which, quite frankly, is fine with me.  Underarms & legs only get shaved about every two weeks, no need for anymore.  Very little growth. Although the hair on my chin that decided to grow during tx is now a real pain in the you know what. Just call me the "bearded lady".  I pluck almost daily.

Hubby is doing good but still no treatmeant.  He had an ultrasound (no biopsy) and doc said to wait a few months.  His drinking habits are better, but there are days.  He is trying and I guess that's all I can ask.

We ended about the same time.  I keep mine really short, but the body is coming back slowly.  The hair on my legs is coming back in patches -- I only have to shave about a 3 by 6 inch place on the shin -- no hair anywhere else yet (odd).  Underams I quit shaving in August.  Still don't need to -- guess I will do an obligatory shave before short sleeves are in for spring whether I need to or not!

How is the hubby doing?  Has he restarted yet?

Sounds like hubby is doing the bet he can and adjusting to the lifestyle changes he must make slowly but surely.
