Did you mean to say hep B - something most nurse's are immunized for?

I dont understand the question at all but we aren't lawyers here. We did have one who probably would have known exactly how to help you but she is not allowed to post here anymore. What a shame she was a valuable asset to the forum.

Still I dont see how anyone in school has access to your medical records that it would be a harrassment suit we have lots of nurses and medical professionals in here and none of them have ever had any issue like this.

Your personal life experiences only make you a BETTER nurse. Hold your head high and fight for what you want out of life!  It's worth it. RN 25yrs, HCV 47yrs.

ps All nurses eat their young. I'm not sure why that is. Happened to me too. Keep in mind why you're there (for the patient) and try not to take it personally. LOL

The Board of Registered Nurses in your state should have what your looking for. Go get 'em!

From a legal standpoint, you are protected by HIPAA as well as student record confidentiality laws. If you feel you are being harassed by other students, take the issue up with your instructor. If it higher than that, take it to your school administrator and/or school counselor.  Nobody but you and your doctor should know what is in your medical records unless you tell them. If others have found out -and not from you, then the best you can do to defuse the stigma that follows is educate those spreading the gossip.  As bookbound said, nurses eat their young -actually, this goes in the general medical field as well. -I've been a paramedic 25 yrs, diagnosed with Hep C in 2007 and I have found the ignorance surrounding Hep C in the medical field to be incredible. I'm sure hep B is no different. Hang in there, hold your head up, and look them square in the eye. Confront the gossipers if necessary with facts -and then move on. Do not let them get in your way and have a successful career. It will make you a better and more empathetic nurse. ~MM
