I acquired my Hep C either 30 yrs ago or in the 90's. My only symptom is all over pain in my body. Is this a normal complaint in later stage Hep C or is it something else, I am wondering. Thank you. I am 63 Yrs old with no depression,

What you mention in your last post is all related to Hep C symptoms indirectly I might add.Everything in our body is connected one part suffers of one thing the rest of the body is affected in different ways,it all depends in one way what you're more genetically prone to.Here is a few diabetes type 2,different types of rheumatism and arthritis. For women thyroid problems for men gerd disease.Itchynes, digestive and urinary problems, fatigue, foggy brain, mood swings, insomnia, fibromyagia.I could go on and on.One can also be asymptomatic until they have last stage of cirrhosis, then it's ascites and so on so forth.

I would just  get tested on  much damage is to your iiver and go from there, you might have no damage or very little, who knows.

All the best to you
it happens then you don't have much to worry about.

Thank you both for your comments and in a timely manner. :) I just got back on now. Yes I have arithitis, L2-7 disk disease, and hardening of the arteries, neuropathy and more so who knows where the pain comes from, but come it does and drugs don't do everything ya know. I do need to see the specialist again, when Encivik? came out my Dr. said just sit back and watch how others do for a while, now it seems that that wasn't the "wonder" drug they had hoped for. Cando, what Tx is being used as the wonder drug now and how are people faring on it? Have you cleared??
The Aqua Theraphy sounds great! Thanks again, have a wonderful day! <3

P.S.
I take medications for other conditions that may have contributed to the kidney issue although I did just find out that HCV can cause kidney problems.

All these years and I never knew that. It was always about keeping an eye on the liver function when they did labs.

I find hot baths helps the pains in the legs and arms.
I also go to physical therapy …Aqua therapy.. as i have become more sedentary it helps quite a bit. low impact.

best to you..

dear Can do..
i have a full body, muscle, joint, tendon,  every fiber of my being pain. Muscle Twitches and cramps too. Extreme fatigue and it seems to come on like an "attack" if i am active at all…housework….grocery shopping...started almost 3 years ago. the doctors do not know. I have been to about 7 doctors since it started.

I have had HCV probably as long as you.. late 1980's? I am 52.now.

I was just diagnosed with kidney loss. CKD 3 .. The kidney specialist didn't seem to think it was due to that but i did read that kidney problems can cause muscle cramps and twitching..

I go to see the kidney dr. tomorrow again. for biopsy results.

I am hoping to start treatment for the HCV very soon. I have never treated the HCV. my liver function tests are not very bad yet.

No this is not normal for Hep C. There must be something else going on. As for having Hep C for that many years you really need to see a Hepatologist to find out the condition of your liver though. You need to rid yourself of this virus as soon as possible. There's never been a better and easier time to treat. Best to you.
