You will be ok,just dont make it  a habit, ive done the once or twice.... i think of the PEG as eggs, once you get em otta the fridge, make sure you get em in your body fast...you wouldnt leave eggs laying around to long .

It's no problem. I was going for a trip during tx, and my dr. said I could have them out of the fridge up to a couple of hours.

I typically removed from refirgeration for a couple of hours before use.  It's not a problem.  Or, you can roll the syringe in your hands to warm it up if your are going to use it right away.  But, you should protect the Peg from freezing.  If you have places in your frige that cause contents to freeze, avoid putting the Peg in those spots.

Your one of the lucky ones, you may not even have any sides all the way tru,BTW....im guessing you VL was very low?...im thinkn this maybe why you had no shakes after the first shot...just a guess.

I dont have any copies of lab work but i definetly will start asking for them. Iwas told 403000. Would you say i have a good chance of clearing since its low?

Your chance of clearing will be best be determined once the time to undetectable is established.  Your next viral load will be very important.  The more rapid the drop, the better your chance of SVR.  Some people consider starting viral load to be important, but I think the general load is time to undetectable is the best predictor.

Best of luck to you.

Welcome to the forum!

I definitely agree with Andiamo about the importance of the next viral load test.

Wish you the best of luck with the treatment and will be praying for a rapid drop in your viral load!

I used to get big red blotches at the injection site. They looked like I got hit by a baseball. I was told my my NP to let the shot warm a bit, up to an hour. I would leave it sit, till it felt like it was room temp. This would sometimes take about an hour. I never had any bad reactions to the shot other than the normal side effects. The shots would still give me the big red welts though but they didn't hurt at all going in. The good news is that I was UND at 4wks, 12 wks, and at EOT so I guess the warm up time didn't affect the efficacy of the shots. BTW I would always use my thighs for injection sites because I didn't want those big, red, itchy splotches on my abdomen and now (3 mos. PT) I still have no hair on the areas I used for injecting. Weird.

Thanks for the welcomes and well wishes. chuckles333 hi i also have a red welt its getting lighter no pain so thats good. Its only my first shot tomorrow is my second im going to try rotating from belly to thigh. The welt took about 4 days to appear was it like this for you I still havent felt side effects. My hair was already thinning out after having my baby so i cant tell. I get headaches but there mild so far. I feel good so far. I just hope it it stays that way

Your a young one here ;) I've always had a soft spot for any young txers, versus so many of us being middle agers, not having gotten dx'd for yrs.

I had very off and on shots nights. My 1st few not bad at all. Then one would be bad, one not. I remember the worry on the 1st one being far worse then any sides! Actually, thinking back, we had a thread here about some of us having 'shot night' sides 2 days later.

Anyhoo, good luck ahead. Don't think it's not working because your getting little or no sides. Hopefully you'll tolerate the rest as well.

Sorry about the delay getting back 2U. Ya it was like that for me too, between 4 & 6 days for the welt to appear and then about another 7 days for it to stop itching and about another two weeks for it to disappear. What genotype are you? Itr's mostly type 2 that get the welts I think. Well welcome to the site and best of luck with TX..
