newly exposed

by kat07, Oct 16, 2007 03:34PM
I have recently been exposed to hep b, I just started dating my boyfriend.  we have had sexual contant 20 days ago, he went to the clinic to get immune globulin and vaccinated.  After researching this it looks like he may still get the disease.  Since immune globulin only works if you use it with in 7 days?  How likely you think it will help keep him from getting the virus?

He has a roomate in his house, should he be vaccinated?  my boyfriend currently does not have the virus?  Still we will have to wait and see?

It would depend on your exposure and actual infection with HEPB.

My suggestion is to get everyone vaccinated ANYWAY>

And to remain vigilant for signs/symptoms of HEPB.
