Mikki,
How is it going for you, have you found anything else out? let us know.
Mikki keep doing exactly what you are doing. Ask questions and learn all you can. The doctors generally have great intentions but many of them don't keep up on the latest advances in this disease. Without this forum I probably would not have succeeded my treatment but with it's knowledgable members I did.
good luck.

You need to find out where you are with the disease, your genotype and stage and blood levels.
I imagine there is good medical care in Chicago, find a good hepatologist that you can work with.
Once you find out your genotype you will have a better idea of course of action.
I am geno 1 the most common and most difficult to treat w/ interferon.
I am stage 1 according to biopsy 2 yrs. ago, I am trying to wait for better treatment. We shall see.
Good luck,

You have answers to this on the Hep C forum.
I posted on both my first post too.
