pain in foot

A few years ago I broke my foot. This was my first broken bone. I am experiencing some pain right where I broke my foot. Because I haven't had any prior broken bones, I don't know whether this pain is something that everyone experiences as years go by from healed broken bones or does the meds cause this type of pain anywhere there has been a prior injury.

It happened the other day and then went away and now today it is back.I actually have a problem putting weight on it and have to limp. I have a feeling its from the meds, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

thanks

It is snowing here in the NYC vicinity. Maybe that has something to do with it?

sf, yes i think the tx does it. It now is fine again.
comes a goes. I think its the tx too.

Aquarius. yeah, but as i said to sf, its weird cuz it comes and goes. I think if it was a wart or something the pain would stay.

the pain is mostly on top of the foot where I broke it. strange tho that it is fine now.

i too once broke my foot and then 20 yrs later started getting pain in my foot as you describe. i had to limp, couldn't put weight on it. i went to a podiatrist, someone recommended it. and i found out i had a plantar wart, which you really couldn't see. doc tx'ed it and the pain went away, never had it since. don't know if that could be it?  hope you feel better soon!

Cold weather can exacerbate arthritic conditions. Anyone who breaks a bone is guaranteed to have changes in the joint, which lead to arthritis. The meds DO cause arthralgia and so does hep c. You meet all the criteria to have pain in your foot! I think the meds brought it on too.

well, there could had been a tear muscle on it causing the pain.. try to check it your range of motion is ok. if not and if u feel slight pain then its indeed an injru.. and ladybug is right.. cold weather does cause arthritic changes in us.. most of oldies had felt arthritis since at this months is our coldest... but ot compared there... apply some oil on it to relieve pain and gently exercise it daily...

Interesting. I broke my foot in the early 80's, wore a cast for six weeks. At Chritmas this year my granddaughter was hanging on that foot. I woke in the morning with intense pain in my foot. I hobbled around for a week. The pain was exactly where it was fractured before and came back now on tx. I have had lots of old injuries bother me, but not one that was really so minor. I bet it is the tx that is bringing out these old injuries and problems.

Interferon, by overstimulating the immune system, has a habit of bringing out conditions/injuries that were previously under the radar. In other words, like Don Quixote, the immune system starts attacking imaginary threats. Don't exactly know how this relates to you foot but others have posted about increased arthritic pain during treatment but then again some report that pains and aches went again under interferon only to have them come back when treatment was over. All said, if it keeps on aching, you might want to have an ortho look at it and of course bring it to the attention of your medical team. Sometimes better a pain in the foot than pain in the neck, but not always :)
