hello all...I am now 1 year 1 month post and pcr is negative. I have had some residual sides but feel better everyday. I had my cbc done last week as the gastro forgot to draw it when had pcr done..I have been going to pcp last few months due to swelling in my knee and pain. He drew the cbc.  He took fluid from it and shot it with cortisone..it feels much better but still swells at the end of the evening. I keep getting high white blood cell counts back and wondered if anyone else hads this post tx???? I don't feel like I have an infection but I have missed my cylce now the past 2 months. I see my endo on the 3rd and will question alot of concerns. Any input would be appreciated. :) shelly

Congratualtions on SVR. I have swelling in my knees since Tx. and have to take prednisone off and on...I had my knee injected last summer and it got better for a while but comes back. My WBC's stay low since treatment so my PCP and Rheumatologist think I have polyathralgia (palindromic rheumatism) from years of HCV and then the Tx.
Blessings, :)

How high?
Is it the only parameter outside of the normal range? How is differentiation of the WBCs – all proportionally elevated, or only one kind of white blood cells?

What about lymphocytes – it is important to know, if they are “suppressed” (in low, even if normal, range) or in the mid or high range?

To be on a safe side – I would schedule an appointment with a Hematologist for his opinion.
Did they do other tests -- such as Metabolic Panel, Protein Electrophoresis, etc.?

Congratulations with SVR!!

All the best

What does your PCP say?  Was the fluid draw from your knee infected? If that is the case i would ask for a referral to an Orthopedic doc.  If not your PCP needs to work you up further to find the source of infection.  Good Luck...Leah
