robo update 6/4/12

Took interferon shot 48 of 48 last night.  Hopefully, this will be the real end of treatment.  It was a long and difficult treatment and at times was a ddelicate balancing act.  Was und at day 8 and have remained so throughout.  Hopefully, that will stick even when meds are withdrawn.  Dr. put my odds of SVR at 90%, but I take nothing for granted.  Next appointment in 4 weeks to check a 4 week SVR possibility.

If I can successfully treat than anyone can.  I had so many obstacles (HIV, cirrhosis, hemophilia, low platelets, chronic nausea, 35 lb weight loss, a painful kidney stone, and an unsupportive spouse soon to be an ex spouse).  I only missed a handful of workdays mostly for appts.  For some reason the last week was the hardest side effect wise.

Wish you all healthy and happy futures.  I'll check in from time to time.

CONGRATS!!!!!! I know you've had such a hard time
with this tx and having added diseases such as hemophilia
and HIV, cirrhosis is quite a balancing act to say the least.


I'm truly sorry about your marriage, very sorry Robo, I know
this hurt you deeply.  Please know your children need you.

Now , the wait and see.....if you're still UND at week 4 that is a very
very positive sign:)  SVR on it's way!!!! I truly believe this to be true.

Congrats on EOT!!!  Hoping the very, very best for you.  48 weeks.  I almost had to do 48 weeks too, so I am in awe of you and anyone else who has hung in there as long and longer.  Be good to yourself.

Congratulations on finishing 48 -- it is difficult, and more at the end than the beginning, I think.  I am on 41 and think about quiting daily.  It takes a lot to complete 48, especially when you are UND at week 1 (was it Incevik?).  I think you did the right thing to push to the 48 with cirrhosis.
