Just had biop. thurs. very casual @ tripler Hosp. hawaii.   They gave me 2 oxys day before to take on way to appiontment . I was feelin fine  !  They shot a bunch of local pain med  near ribs and I did   not feel any pain.  Worst part was they make you lay on Right side for 4 hours . I wanted a smoke but that was it. the incesion is very small and is hard to see 2 days later.

Been on Oxy for almost 4 yrs and did biopsy last week... you don't need anything for that as very little pain associated. I always have the should 'throb' for about 2 hours and then normal. Versad is typically used to divert you but likely you won't notice much due to your current meds. You will do fine and have little sids and feel normal 8 hours later...

They have changed biopsy (bx) pocedures dramatically over the past few years. They will give you (injection) something that will put you in lala land right before the procedure...it was (really) nice. Then they will give you pain meds (if needed) while they keep you for observation. It really was not a big deal. Read the posts of the last week and I know someone posted about how pain free and what a difference a few years make in how they treat patients during biopsey. Wishing you all the best :)
