Blood test results

My husband has Hep C and cirrohsis.  His lab work is confusing. Three weeks ago his SGOT level was 119. Today it is 29. Three weeks ago his SGPT level was 90.  Today it is 37.  Does Hep C make these levels fluctuate this drastically?  What does SGOT and SGPT stand for?  Thank you.  God bless you.                                         `
