Don't know where to go for answers

  Just two days ago my best friend was  diagnosed with Hep-C.  We both have no clue as to what this means.  She's afraid she'll not be able to bear children because she could give it to them.  Is this true?  And she's never had a blood transfusion and every doctor we've spoken to has told us she had to get it from a blood transfusion.  She has given blood and plasma before.  What will happen to her liver.  She keeps saying she's just going to die, but I'm hoping that this is not that serious.  Please help me and tell me where I could go for some straight answers.  I would like some reading material to print up.  I thank you very much for taking the time to answer me.
