Feeling quite despondent

I was  diagnosed with Hep C , I have an enlarged speen that hurts often and an enlarged liver ( per CT scan)
My WBC is 2.1, RBC 3.79, HGB 11.1, HCT 33.1, RDW 15.5, Platelet count 40., AST 46.
I know these are abnormal counts..
I do not have insurance and do not seem to be able to connect with the Dr. in charge of my case often enough
( his office help is not friendly) and I am starting to get depressed and cry often.
I have to force my self to eat and am losing weight at a dramatic level.
What do I do?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
not much to add from me. You clearly need help, both for the depression and the HCV. Find the nearest public hospital and get qualified for medicaid and you can see a mental health professional there as well.

My suggestions is to contact his supervisor or whoever handles your medicare or whatever public assistance you are getting...

Or to request another doctor.

If you need more comforting than they can supply - you must remember a doctor is not there to hand hold you - they are there to make your body better.... To keep you alive and help you live healthy.

Your depression is a COMMON occurrence with both patients who are treating HCV or who have HCV.

I suggested that you find another doctor set up immediately --- and get someone to talk to about your depression. Even if it means speaking to a clergy.

Depression is NEVER good.
