How long to treat?

I have hep c and am 1b.My viral load was over a million. I just started tx and I'm on my 6th shot tonight.  At my 2 week time I had my blood test and my Dr said my blood work looked good. (He did not check my viral load at that time, said it was too soon). He made a comment that if my blood work looked good and my viral load was undetectable at 6 wks I may only need to do tx for 26 wks. I'd never heard of that with 1b. What is your input on this issue? I go back in a couple of days.

They are saying that RVR people may only need to treat for 24/26/28 weeks.

But I haven't seen a complete study on it yet - I don't know if one is out there ----- but I have heard others say that RVR is a predicator of a shorter TX time.

RVR is a VERY promising sign.... It means that you are responding to the medication and your virus is dwindling - which is EXCELLENT NEWS!!!!

Wait for DR D to answer your question - but congrats on the possible RVR --- that can mean a BIG YES for becoming UND and SVR... "cured"...

Hugs,

Meki
