I have Hep C, But we want a baby!!!

My husband and I have been together for 12 years. We have one child together. She was born in 1998. When I was pregnant with her I found out I had Hep C. in my 8th month. When she was born she was tested and it was negative. She has been tested 2 other times, all clear. she is now 10 years old and very healthy. I am now 34 and  ready for one more baby. I'm over all very healthy. I eat right, exercise, and take vitamins. I'm waiting for my Viral Load test to come back. If that is a low number, is there a chance I could have a baby? Without harming the baby or myself???? I havent brought this up with my doctor yet!

Many women have babies with HCV and dont pass on the virus. The chances are only about 5% and even less if you have an elective C section. It sounds like you are healthy and there is really no reason not to try as long as you are aware of the risk to the baby which is minimal. Good luck! DTD

Thank you for your response. I just found out today that my Viral Load is at 1,130,000. Is that way to high to have a baby. My husband are willing to take the chance. We already have a 10 year old that didn't get Hep C. during a vaginal birth. My Gyno. is on my side and ready to take this on. We just want other opinions. Thank you. P.S. my Dr. told me that all my other blood work was normal.
