I really appreciate you taking the time to answer concerns.  I really want to know what blood to blood contact means.. For example if I opened a door with hepatitis c positive blood on it then touched a cut with the same finger that touched that door knob later that day (after a hand wash) could that be considered blood to blood?  Is it that easy and possible to catch hepatitis c?  I know a lot of people want to understand the transferability of hepatitis c via casual contact, and I would greatly appreciate an answer.

You can read a lot of good information about the disease that will answer your questions, I think. In addition there is a Hepatitis C forum on MedHelp here that where many people, patients not doctors, will share their insights with you. Just click on Forums at the top of this page and navigate to the Hepatitis C link from there.

You can learn a lot while you are waiting for the doctor's answer. Blood to blood means any activity that brings an infected person's blood cells into another's blood stream. This typically occurs from contaminated needles, but there are other less likely possibilities discussed in the links above.

P.S. A tanning booth will not eradicate an HCV infection. It can increase the risk of skin cancer, though.
