I just have a few questions about the nausea, vomiting and itching associated with hepatitis. Ive been told that marijuana might help me with my symptoms. I have read that one of the effects of using marijuana for medicinal purposes is that it helps with nausea and the sedating effect should help with my itching. Its also supposed to help with appetite, which I have little of as of late. There isnt anything they can give me for my nausea. They have given me phenergan 12.5 mg tabs in the past but all that does is put me into this coma like sleep for hours and I usually wake up still sick to my stomache. So I mean im losing weight every week. I take Ativan(2mg a day) and Colestid (5g 4 x a day) for my itching but that doesnt work all the time unless I take alot of ativan (4-6mg) which alleviates the itching for a little while. The colestid just keeps my billirubin levels even in my system, this is because as soon as the colestid absorbs some billirubin more is being put into my system probably from my bile duct blockage, so all its doing is keeping my levels even. I also take Actigall(300mg 3 x a day) and Prevacid(30mg 1x a day). Any advice about the medicinal marijuana would be appreciated. Thanx.

I am far from any type of Medicine expert, but I will relate my experience with marijuana and nausea. A family member going through chemo for cancer smoked to relieve nausea and produce the "munchies". He said it was the only thing that worked for him. Don't know if this helps you, but it did help him.
