Rebetron (combo) treatment for genotype 1b

Rebetron (combo) treatment for genotype 1b

I have Hepatitis C with grade 4 and genotype 1b.  My doctor has prescribed Rebetron treatment and the insurance company has denied coverage based upon the lack of information regarding success with my genotype.  I realize that there is not a lot of success but I feel that 15% is still better than 0%.  I have just finished a year of treatments for non-Hodgkins lymphoma (b-cell) and am now in remission.  The splenectomy I had in December revealed a conjested spleen due to the cirrhosis in the liver and that prompted the pursuit of the C monster.  I feel that any help I can get to arrest the virus will be of help in maintaining remission of the lymphoma (my hematologist and gastrointerologist both feel there's a correllation.)  I also am fearful that since my body already kicked out cancer once that I would be prone to develop primary liver cancer as a result of the hepatitis.
Sorry, I ramble.  The bottom line is: do you know of any information showing the successes of treating genotype 1b with the rebetron therapy?
  Thank you!!!
