antibodies to platelets??

My platelets are dropping, steadily.  I am starting week twelve of treatment.  1000 riba daily and 180 interferon once a week.  My platelets today are 53.  My hep dr. is afraid I may have some sort of condition that is lowering my platelets, since I do not have cirrhosis.

He says he has only seen this twice.  
Have you heard of this.  What do you think?  He wants to STOP treatment.  I am responding!! Have gone from 10 mill to 180 in in 8 wks. and hope to be und. at 12 (next week)  I cannot stop now!!!!!!
