Hernia&pregnant

I believe i have an inguinal hernia on my right side and was about to get it taken care of, now i found out in 7 weeks pregnant. How will they effect each other? Will i still be fine carrying out my pregnancy with a hernia?

Hi there,
Hernia in pregnant women presents distinct challenges for treatment. In most cases the hernias do neither incarceration nor strangulation before or after delivery. Therefore most doctors recommend watchful waiting strategy during pregnancy, with a plan for postpartum herniorrhaphy. The decision of treatment should be left on the surgeon and discuss your concerns with your doctor. Do keep me posted.
