MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there,
This pain in the lower left quadrant of the abdomen could be due to a condition called diverticulosis. In this condition there are small out-pouchings in the colon wall that can become obstructed and inflamed leading to pain. This generally is seen in old people .Other possible causes are lactose intolerance or other food allergy. Irritable bowel syndrome, kidney stones and hernia may cause pain as well. I would suggest talking with your doctor and if needed seeing a GI specialist to help diagnose your condition. Treatment will be specific based on the cause.
Best wishes and regards!
