Herpes urethritis

Hi,

Would Herpes urethritis cause slight urethra discomfort and not be there all the time? I have what could be cold sore on the edge of my lip, or could be a spot? No signs of sores on penis or in that area. I had read that you would get Herpes urethritis within 3-5 days of exposure, not 6 - 12 weeks, is this correct?

From everything I've been told, herpes urethritis would be extremely painful and hurt at all times. I've also been told and read on the expert forum that you would have external lesions as well if you had internal herpes. Did you have any blood test done for herpes?

Thanks for your response. No, have not had herpes test done. I have has all other std tests and now have mild pain in urethra. As I have a possible facial cold sore I am linking the two, i would say also reading to much!!

this doesn't sound at all like herpes going on.  I've had herpes urethritis and trust me, you would never describe it as mild nor would it be off and on.

continue to follow up with your providers as needed.  

your oral herpes has nothing to do with anything going on below the waist.
