? if Valtrex is helpful in pt with corneal ulcer?

I have been prone to cold sores for many years, had one recently in November 2010.  I have had a cold for approximately 2 weeks with no cold sore.  I am a contact wearer and recently went to the eye doctor due to pain and redness in my eye.  The doctor told me I had a corneal ulcer. I am curious if taking my prescription for Valtrex would have any impact on my eye?                          Thanks, Kris

herpes of the eye is very serious. If your provider had suspected it, they would've tested you for it I"m sure.  The testing is very simple if you are concerned about a herpes eye infection - just talk to your eye doctor.

I read that herpes simplex virus could also attribute to corneal ulcers and that was the reason for my question.

valtrex only helps with herpes issues. unless you tested + for herpes being active in your eye, no reason to start valtrex.  corneal ulcers are a side effect of contact wearing.
