im lacking info?

i was recently diagnosed with hsv. can somebody please clarify the difference in hsv 1 and hsv 2? the dr failed to explain much. and also im on a prevntative rx of valtrex. taking that and using condoms, is it 100% confined or can it be passed on?

do you have hsv1 or hsv2 genitally? what testing did you have done so far?

where would i find the handbook? i apologize, I'm new to this site. I'm not sure which i have. the Dr did blood work. the only thing she said is that I'm positive for hsv. my doctor doesnt explain much. and they wont call me back. yes i have a regular partner. we had unprotected sex before i was diagnosed were not sure where it came from so were trying to take precautions.

google free herpes handbook by terri warren - it comes right up :)  Terri is our herpes expert here on medhelp and also wrote a terrific book called "the good news about the bad news" you can buy through her site or through amazon.

call monday ( though some clinics are closed for the holiday that day ) and ask them to read you your exact test results. Write them down to post here - e.g. hsv1 igg 6.9 and hsv2 igg 3.4 or whatever they are. I can much better help you once I know that info - thanks!
