2nd Neg for HSV II, but could be positive for HSV I, should I start taking Valtrex?

Just got a second negative result for HSV II, however the lab did not follow up with HSV I or the Combo tests.

I may or may not be getting a zit near my lip.  Right now I am a very nervous.

I have a follow up herpes select test in 4 - 5 weeks.

Can I take Valtrex?  Should I take Valtrex?  Will taking Valtrex effect my herpes select test in 4 - 5 weeks?

I have small children and I do not want to put anyone at risk?

For faster answers than a blood test, see your provider today or tomorrow and get the lesion on your lip cultured and typed for herpes to know if it's hsv1 or not.

you cant spread herpes thru casual contact.  if you think your getting a cold sore or zit on your lip then don't kiss your children, or use their cup, toothbrush, fork etc.  relax about all this til you have all your results back.  nothing you do or worry about will change the outcome.  good luck
