my 9 yr old son was diagnosed with herpes hv2 . he has a infected rash on his butt with pimples.
how could he have been infected with this, if this is only contagious threw sex
HSV2 is a sexually transmitted infection therefore you need to make sure you have not misread the test result or indeed have been given a wrong result, speak to your Doctor as soon as possible as it is highly unusual for a 9yr old to be infected with HSV2 due to the manner in which it is transmitted ..... You need to have this result investigated as soon as possible.
How and when was this diagnosis made and by whom ?
we 1st discovered it about 3 weeks ago the we took him to a skin doctor in town he looked it over gave us some type of cream and said it might be dermatitis. he said to come back in two weeks which was yesterday. then he dropped the bombshell stating that it was herpes simplex . as for what type this is , me and my wife have came too the conclusion after looking at pics on the web. he seems to have little white heads
no test just his observation. me and my wife are hoping that it is not right .we are waiting for the rash to go away, it has at least been 3/4 weeks that we know of and it is still there. my son says he has no pain or itching
but no blisters. if and when it comes back that is when we plan on getting testing done. we think that it is sacrel herpes because it looks like it. is there anything else it could be. also i will send a pic if you care to see it. thanks
If no proper test has been done there is no way any Doctor can possibly give an HSV2 diagnosis on a 9yr old it may be that your Son has contracted HSV1 which many children do long before they reach adultdhood from well meaning Friends and Relatives who suffer from cold sores kissing the children, the fact that the rash is on his bottom does not automatically suggest HSV2 ...... It is your duty as parents to have this properly investigated and all possible tests taken to find out the cause of this rash DO NOT assume it is Herpes just because it looks similar to pictures on the Internet rashes can be caused by many things not every rash is Herpes related in fact most are not ......
Have him checked over as soon as possible.
Ok to clarify he never exactly said it was hsv2 what he said was its herpes and pretty much left it at that with not much help on the subject. so by doing my research on the net i assume this is the sacral herpes on the butt ox . 2nd opinion and test are in the works . what do you think the chances are that he is wrong ? also i will keep you posted on the results. thnxz for all of your help!
symptoms = we are waiting for the rash to go away, it has at least been 3/4 weeks that we know of and it is still there. my son says he has no pain or itching
Your son needs to see a different practioner. Herpes simplex in the buttocks area on a 9 year old is incredibly unusual and they've done no testing to confirm it. It really sounds like something else is going on like - probably a staph infection or a fungal infection or even a dermatological condition like eczema or something. Take him to a different doctor who hopefully does a better job.
