Abrasion or herpes?

Abrasion or herpes?

I've been with the same guy for a month and a half now and about 5 days ago we had rough unprotected sex and I got really dry. The next day I was very sore but nothing really stung. Two days after, the inside of my left labia majora started itching very badly. The day after that it started to sting in this one little spot. I went to the doctor today and she said there were two little abrasions and said she doesn't think it's herpes, but herpes can look like that so she had me have blood work taken just to be sure. Only thing is, I won't know the results for a week so that means I'm going to be worrying and stressing for the next 7 days. Could it just be an abrasion from sex or from scratching when it was itchy or could it really be herpes?

odds are neither you nor your partner have ever been tested for herpes before.   while you are waiting, your partner also should get a type specific herpes igg blood test done to see what his status is.

it can take months until a newly acquired herpes infection is reflected in the blood tests. your provider should've also did a lesion culture of your symptoms too for potentially faster results.

did they also test you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too?
