Advice or thoughts please

Hi,

Whilst this post is long I would appreciate any help.

Ive been dealing with "symptoms" for 8 months now and they fluctuate but I haven't been symptom free for that length of time and Im wondering what people think about this.

I know I get cold sores not very often but had an outbreak about 2 years ago. Then 8 months ago I had another OB of cold sores (this was 10 weeks after unprotected vaginal sex by the way).

A week after my Oral OB started I started to have some feelings in the genital area. Hard to describe but the whole area, scrotum everything just felt irritated, it never hurts when I pee at all, and there were no visible sores, the only thing I could see visually was some red skin. After a few weeks the feelings weren't going away, I felt pain in my lower back, the right side of my perineum, what feels like my kidneys and sometimes my stomach and I felt dizzy and lightheaded. I went to the GUM Clinic they checked me out and said no sign of Herpes at all, all other tests clear for STDs including HIV etc.

A few weeks go by, still feeling like there's something wrong, my penis is very sore, pain in lower back, still have red skin, feel dizzy and just very very sick! Appetite gone as well. I go back to the GUM clinic, they say the same thing, no evidence of Herpes and nothing to swab, everything looks normal.

A Month goes by, feel iller than I've ever been, I go the Doctor, does a blood test (not for herpes I might add) as she doesn't see any evidence of herpes either but to check for other things. All ok apparently.

Another month goes by no change, back pain, kidney pain, dizzy, light headed, my eyes are sore and dry and Im very sore in the perineum area and just feeling so so sick.

I go back to the Doctor, she seems to be annoyed now that Im back as she doesn't think there's anything wrong, she says "what do you think it is?" I said "well Ive googled :) and possibly Herpes", she said "ok, well this goes against everything I know but Im going to prescribe you a weeks course of Valtrex", I take the weeks course... no difference at all.

Back to the doctor, she refers me to Urology, he says just by reading my notes he's certain its prostititus but does a rectal prostate exam anyway and gives me a months worth of Anti Biotics, says it will go after 2 weeks but keep going with the tablets for a month.

I duly take the tablets, for the first two weeks things get even worse and then just go back to what is "normal" for me now. Didnt make any difference at all.

I felt so ill that I again went back to the sti clinic as I just cant imagine what else could be causing this, another Dr looked (this is the 4 / 5th person who has looked now and said doesnt look like herpes) and said balanitis, said to put herpes out of my mind, gave me some advice on managing the balanitis.

The problem I have is no one has been able to explain all the sickness feeling and pains in the area.

Now bearing in mind as far as I know Ive never had a single blister genitally but just red and dry flaky skin does anyone else think this could be genital herpes?

Would such fluctuating symptoms last for 8 months without any blisters and just the red dry flaky skin? would it cause the kidney and back pain? make me feel dizzy and ill for this long? I cant tell you how ill I feel, I've lost weight, appetite has all but gone, my eyes and very dry.

I feel if I hadnt had the Oral outbreak a week before this all started I dont think I would even be thinking its Herpes but it just feels a bit of a coincidence?

Any help greatly appreciated.

1. Do yourself a favor and have a herpes blood test also have a PCR swab of your irritated genital area but what you describing does not indicate hsv1 or hsv2 genital at all but would appear more fungal related. You have something on you topic skin in your genital area and the PCR test would tell you the nature of this as is DNA based.
2. Your other symptoms like light headedness could be from stress but there is not STD or topical skin condition that causes light headedness.
3. For you kidney issue have an ultrasound.
4. Lower back pain have an MRI.
5, Dry eyes see a eye doctor for some lubricating drops.
6. loss of appitie see a stress doctor .

You mis understood me. When a person has hsv1 oral, contracting it genital is my statement. Having one type in one area, we are basicly immune to contracting  same type in another area.

Hi thanks for taking the time to reply but that info is horribly incorrect.  There are many people out there with HSV1 orally and HSV2 genitally?

Hi, those with hsv in one area are basicly immune to contracting it in another. So if you have it oral, your genital would not be symptoms fo herpes
