Am I really Positive for Herpes? Does this mean I contacted it long ago? HELP :C

I was together with a Exbf for 5 years. Back in 4/09/2015; I tested for Herpes 2. IgG results: 0.6 (positive >11.0)

But we broke off. And I was with a new BF this year (2016). And we had our first time intercourse with each other on 23/03/2016; while I was on my period. Around 4/5 days later, I was so sore and ulcers and blisters with pus pop here and there around my genital area and very painful urination.

See a Gynecologist on 27/03/2016 and was given antiviral and antiobiotic as he said it could be herpes. Long story short, 1.5 weeks later it all cure up and did a blood test on 08/04/2016.

Got my result today (18/04/2016).
Herpes type 2 IgG 1.3 (>1.1 positive)

According to the Gynecologist, he said most likely I contacted herpes long time ago.

I'm confused.
-Does this mean I didnt get herpes from my current bf (first intercourse together on 23/03/2016)?
- but from my ex of 5 years? But if thats true, how come my result was negative back in 4/09/2015?

Didnt did any swab test
only blood test..

By the way, might you have any idea why Pathlab test Negative is consider <11.0; while Gribbles is <1.1?

did he test for staff? If lesions are present then swabbing is the correct action. I hope it all works out for you

I guess cause when the doctor check on me.

Doctor said the Herpes lesion/blister/ulcer (not so sure which correct term) will be painful when touch. But I dont feel the pain when touch unless being urinated over it or being squeeze, much like pimples..

Doctor did thought that it could potentially be staph infection.
And he said he didnt want to test me at that point because If I just had sex on  23/03/2016. It could be too early to test for herpes as there are usually incubation period.

I guess thats why?

First off your gyno did you no favors by not swabbing your lesions to test for hsv. The blood test tests for antibodies and it can take a while to build them.
Most primary outbreaks happen 3-5 days from exposure so this recent encounter fits the time frame. I would have another blood test around 12 weeks from your last encounter or if the lesions return, have them swabbed and hsv type specificly tested.
Hsv can be hard to diagnose just by looking at it.

I find it strangely though
1) first report check by Pathlab on 4/9/2015. State Negative 11.0
2) While second report by Gribbles 18/04/2016. State Negative 1.1.

Like why the huge difference.
