, my inner thighs as well as on and around my scrotum and even next to my anus. I went to the urgent care clinic that night and was told not to worry basically, that it looked like something much different from herpes. However, later that night I developed a fever
and flulike symptoms that have persisted, although gotten much better, since then. It is not Saturday, Aug 30 at 8pm. Each of the last 4 days I have had an impossible to ignore prickly type feeling with off and on redness in my inner thighs. Also last night I experienced aches in my left testicle
in the lymph nodes in my abdomen. I went back to the urgent care clinic this morning and was examined again and told that it didnt look at all like herpes. I was given a diagnosis of epididimytis and given anti-biotics. I went home feeling better but after reading the symptoms of epididimytis, I feel completely uneasy again as this says nothing about a redness/rash and feeling like i have a porcupine in my pants. Any opinions would be very welcome. Thanks.
What I would do is go to your family practioner and ask that they test you for all stds (blood test). Did you already know about some of the symptoms of herpes or was herpes the topic of conversation before this unprotected incident occurred? Did your partner put any type of items on you that you might be allergic too? Did you wash you clothes with a different type of detergent? I hope this information helps.
no to all those questions. i didnt even think about an std until the following morning when i woke up with itchiness in my groin. this is just an awful feeling. im laying here with a bottle full of antibiotics but feeling like i shouldnt take them because i am feeling like its herpes. i feel prickly type discomfort in the entire genital region, my left groin feels a bit swollen and my lymph nodes in my abdomen are swollen. I called the urgent care unit and left a message, but I think tonight is going to be another long night of tossing and turning.
Take the antibiotics. If you aren't markedly better by wednesday ( or whenever 72 hours after you started antibiotics is ) return to your provider for further evaluation.
ok grace. I'm going to take the antibiotics. I'm quite worried though. I've had all of the symptoms involved with the onset of GH except for burning during urination and physically seeing sores. Everything else though; flulike sickness, aching groin and testicle, swollen lymph nodes in my abdomen, rashy redness, and most prominently a feeling like there are little pins and needles all over the genital area.
Herpes is not the only thing that can cause these sorts of symptoms. Don't keep trying to convince yourself it has to be herpes - be open to other causes too.
I've had the same thing on and off for the last couple months, but haven't had any clusters of sores or anything. I've got a few bumps that come and go within a day, but they're only on my hair follicles. I've also been quite concerned and am hoping to figure out what the cause is. I'm going back in for the blood test on Tuesday and to see what the doctor has to say. It sounds like we're having the same problem...
anyone know of other potential causes for this uncomfortable prickly feeling i'm experiencing? It feels quite a bit like razor burn. It's not completely itchy but really it feels like there are pins and needles in my skin.
I'm glad I've found the right thread! I've been feeling this same kind of pins and needles feeling. Though I would characterize it as more tingling, and it's around my scrotum, penis, and has just recently made it's way around my anus. I had some unsafe sexual contact about 6 days ago. Two days later is when I was feeling these symptoms, and they are still persisting. Sometimes the tingling changes to a slight warming/burning feeling, but it then just goes back to tingling. No sores or lesions, but could this be herpes?!
Is this what you guys are feeling as well? Let me know what your doctors/test results say.
I should get my blood tests back on Monday, but they will probably be worthless since my exposure was in the past month. The STD clinic doctor looked at me and saw no "visible" signs.
This *****. And the time it takes to figure it out ***** too.
Alright, so I got my test results back today (my last encounter was 3 months ago)
HSV-1= 0.3
HSV-2= 0.1
Both are definitely negative, and I think 3 months would spark some change in my antibody level if I had in fact been exposed to herpes- so for me it definitely isn't herpes related. That should be good news for both of you guys too, since it sounds like we were all in the same boat... I'm still confused to what I could be though, since I don't really have any other symptoms of jock itch, and don't see any pubic lice/eggs anywhere... However I do have what look to be the bluish-grayish spots at my hair follicles which are symptoms of pubic lice... Idk if either of you have anything like that, but I was considering the idea that I had a pubic lice infestation that maybe I just can't see with my naked eye. So I'm just going to treat for both lice and jock itch, and hope everything goes back to normal.
With all of that said, I would wait it out until you can get a herpes blood test that will give back accurate results... In the meantime maybe try treating for lice and jock itch- but I wouldn't worry about herpes, I don't have it and it doesn't sound like either of you do either. Hope everything works out.
ive been having the same tingling sensation in my scrotum as well. i went to the doctor this past monday but the doctor saw no signs of herpes. i received unprotected oral sex from a girl on the 31st of August. I got a blood test 4 days later after the encounter but this was before i knew i should wait 3 months before getting one so that was pretty pointless. its kind of reassuring to see you had negative results when i have the same symptoms. im going back to get another blood test on november 1st.
I was just reading this thread and after looking up epididimytis I read that you can give it to your sexual partners. I also read that chlamydia and gonorrhea could play a role in epididimytis (but such is not always the case). I was just wondering if you have been tested for these as of yet? And if so, were either positive?
