Lone oral HSV-2 infection is rare, and not much statistically sound medical infomation is available. Is there any information about how frequently lone (non-genital) HSV-2 is asymptomatically shed orally in a heterosexual, immunocompetent host? A statistically sound medical reference would also be helpful. In short, how likely is the orally HSV-2 partner to pass HSV-2 orally via kissing to a discordant partner? Can HSV-2 still be shed genitally, if the infection is solely oral?
