Asymptomatic shedding?

Hello there.
I'm a female and i've had hsv-1 for 13 years now.
I have given unprotected oral sex  5 times to the same male. I had no outbreaks when it happened and the occurrences all happened weeks from each other.
He has told me he had been tested and he tested negative for both hsv1&2 prior our interactions.

How probable is it for me to infect him? Are chances low?  Because i had no outbreaks  when it happened.
Does shedding occur less when you are you have had the infection for a while?

He is going to get re tested to see but i would like some peace of mind right now.

Thank you.

the chances of transmitting hsv1 to the genital area are always fairly low. Totally up to you and your partner if you want to only engage in protected oral sex or not.

no, shedding of the virus doesn't really get significantly lower the longer you are infected. We don't have as many shedding studies on oral hsv1 as we do genital herpes but everyone sheds the virus over time, regardless of whether they are getting recurrences or not.

really no reason for him to retest if his last testing was done at least 3 months after the last time he had sex with another person.  did you both also test for all other std's too?
