Bizarre Symptoms

Hello,

12 days ago I had unprotected sex with my gf (we've been together only 2 months, and i'm assuming she's been monogamous and honest about her health)

About 5 days after the sex, I had burning with urination at the very beginning of the urination.  This isn't severe, but it is uncomfortable and goes away during the urination and completely after I'm finished.  It is also somewhat painful to ejaculate.  The opening to my penis also looks slightly red and is sensitive to the touch.  I did see my medical provider who prescribed a course of antibiotics which have not yet helped (it's been 72 hours since I took the 1 dose prescription).  I have read that HSV can cause these symptoms even if no lesions on the outside are ever present.  Aside from the initial burning at urination and red/sensitive penis opening, I have no other symptoms.

Do you think this could be HSV?

Thank you!

it could be herpes or it could be something else.

odds are neither you nor your gf have ever been tested for herpes before.  both of you getting type specific herpes igg blood tests will be helpful to know who has what.

at this point it's becoming too late for a lesion culture and typing to be done on your symptoms to rule out herpes.

sounds like they treated you for chlamydia.  do you know the last time your gf had a full std screening done? are you using condoms with her?
