Blood Test

I have had rash and blister in same spot near anus for about 4 times in last 6 months. Doctor sent blood off for testing and came back negative for herpes. Dermatologist said possible ingrown hair. What could this be ? If ingrown hair why does it heal up and then reoccur ?

Sorry, made a mistake on previous post.

This is exactly how the lab report looked:

TEST                                               RESULT                     LIMITS                    LAB

HSV I/II IgG Rflx I-II Type SP
     HSV I/II  IgG                   <0.9                    index           0.0 -  0.8                 01
                                                                               Negative     1.0

I cannot understand this result. The receptionist had it in a folder for me. The nurse was not available to discuss

The test was for HSV I/II IgG Rfix I-II Type Sp. The result showed HSV I/II IgG as <.9   The test did not give an exact number only <.9

you don't have to have anal sex to get herpes lesions in the anal area.

call and ask them to read you your test results and write them down. all I need to see are the actual numeric results - ie hsv1 igg 5.5 and hsv2 igg 3.4 or whatever they are for you.

I am not sure what kind of test. The nurse called me and said it was negative. If it is herpes I have no clue how I got it. I have never had anal sex.
