Burning Iching Scrodum
I had a STD test done about 20 days ago now and everything came back negative. I Ran into my ex-WIFE 14 days ago And had protective sex with her . I got my test results back 2 days before we ran into each other at the bar. I used a condome just because i do every time, after we have been divorced . She informed me the next morning after words she had Contracted Herpes I freaked out! I got Up washed off with soap Hot water Hydro peroxide and used rubbing alcahol on my scrudom and the surounding Areas! I started to ich and a rash on my scrodom the morning she told me she had it. It's been 14 days sense i slept with her and i still have that rash and im still itching down there. But i have been washing and using hydro/Rubbing alcahol ever sense that day. Could the rubbing alcahol and hydro peroxide cause a red rash on my scrodum? I'm getting tested tommorrow again for HSV-2 in the morning. just wanted some feed back and maybe a little insurance it isnt herpes. There are no red Bumbs no blisters no sores down there. it just burns and itches
i have kept a journal as all this first started also and will go into detaile . just to have some opinions/Thoughts as to what it may be until i see my primary care provider.
swo one more question can you get hsv-2 from female ejaculation? While wearing a condum?

usually this is jock itch that causes these symptoms ,not herpes. if otc antifungals aren't helping, I'd return to the doc or at least give them a call and let them know.
I do beleive i have it HSV-2 . 23-25 days in counting still burning like a mofo! i have 1 very small looks like a paper in one area and the rest of the scrodum is still on fire! Hurts like hell in the shower. Cant stand to soak in the tub. i'm not going to get tested until august but will keep away from all sexual activity because i wouldnt wish this on anyone. Its like rubing bengay on your leg and acidently getting it on your balls and it stays burning. worse when it is wet sound like herpes? And i bought the wrong dam can of anti itch spray it had alcahol in it yeah no comment!

ok i have a question ? Can a topical steroid make HSV-2 herpes worse if one does have it?

as I already said, you won't have herpes symptoms show up the next morning after sex. odds are that you don't have herpes causing your symptoms. no tea tree oil either dear - it's a known irritant and you've already irritated the heck out of your nether regions with everything else you've already used down there!!
if your symptoms get worse while using the topical steroid/antifungal, return to be seen again since sometimes folks have such sensitive skin that it can cause pain/rashes instead of taking care of them but certainly give it a few days to start to work.
as I said, the odds of contracting your ex's genital herpes from a one time protected encounter are incredibly low.

Also, if she was having an outbreak when u guys had ur encounter-whether u used a condom or not- ur chances of catching it are very high. If she is having no symptoms at all then ur chances are very low. My husband and I have been together almost 2 years and between protected and unprotected sex, as long as there were no signs of an outbreak, it hasn't been spread to the one who isn't infected. Just a little good news for ya =)
As a matter of fact, signs of HSV2 can show up ad early as 14 days after the contact was made. But its also possible that they may not show up for a long time. They will never show up the next day. The only positive way u can get a good test (if not in the middle of an outbreak) is to have a blood test done. And yes, grace is correct, stop washing urself with peroxide and alocohol. Makes me hurt just thinking about it.
went and seen my doctor the other she said. It's not herpes! and would not run another std test because i had one done less than a 2 weeks prior to the rash. I may have to go get a second oppinion on it though and get retested at another clinic. still no blisters/sores in that area just bunring hot and warm to touch. she said it was a yeast infection. She started me on an anti fungal cream with a steroid in it. i have try'd tea tre oil as well . any suggestions? And thanks for answering and talking Grace.
herpes igg blood testing is the more accurate testing. it needs done at least 3 months post encounter in order to be most accurate.
i meant IgG test. So what test isnt flawed? is the Herpeselet test flawed that bad?
the herpes igm test is a very flawed test. Current CDC recommendations are that it not be drawn on adults for the purpose of diagnosing herpes. in theory it would reflect a newly acquired infection but the ones we currently have aren't accurate for doing that.
hard to tell at this point if you just overly irritated everything, have a fungal infection or just what. continue to follow up as needed with your provider for symptoms.

And im still itching and burning on my scrodum for 2 weeks and cant see a doctor for another 2-3 weeks because there booked solid.
so question what does the last hsv Igm mean?

What are the odds of cathing herpes in general while symptems are present ?She said she is not on any medication for it other than the first outbreak. That happen back in 2-21-12 . Just worried about it. Trying to find out all the information i can thanks
you can't get a WB until at least 4 months after the encounter. at this point, just repeat the hsv2 igg test you had done this time at the appropriate time and go from there.
would it do any good to do a western block test done? I think thats what its called . I do know it takes like 2 weeks to get the test reults back?
your hsv1 igg was positive which you already knew you had due to your history of cold sores. no significance at all to the numeric result other than if it's positive or negative.
you need to wait to test for std's in general. you can test for chlamydia and gonorrhea anytime after 1week post encounter. syphilis after 6 weeks. herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months. testing earlier than those times can result in false negatives.
