burning which my gynecologist deduced to be an allergy to a perfumed soap I was using. The skin around the vulvar region was really raw and red and swollen
went away when I stopped using the soap and the skin seemed to get better as well.
Until this period ... the redness came back ... the burning came back as well. (thankfully, swelling didn't) It is a possibility that the skin hadn't fully healed yet from its reaction to the perfumed soap and with the acidic nature of blood and constant irritation of that area might have flared it up again. But the anxious part of me wonders if it is herpes. :/ I don't have any cold sores or any such symptoms. Just irritation of skin and intense burning. Peeing is not hurtful either until it touches the vulvar skin. Could it be HSV 1 that I acquired through oral sex from him?
He says he has no such symptoms but he could be lying. He has a girlfriend as well who he had forgotten to tell me about as well.
This doesn't sound like genital herpes. Did your provider test you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally when you were seen originally? Either way since symptoms are back, go and be seen and properly evaluated again.
Thank you, Grace. I did get checked for yeast and bacterial infections. There is nothing. I did go back. Doc said that skin is irritated again. It's not as severe as last time and it will take time to heal. :/
Glad to know that it doesn't sound like herpes. It has been a total mental turmoil.
